I
found my love of fine fabrics and wedding gowns early on. I remember
watching my grandmother sit for hours on end at her sewing machine,
watch her drape beautiful fabrics and laces on the mannequin and painstakingly
hand stitching tiny pearls on bodices one by one.
I
knew then as a six year old exactly who I was going to be. Encouraged
to pursue my dream of working in bridal, at 18 moved from a small
country town in New Zealand to London. Through hard work and dedication
I soon found myself working with couture bridal designers and learning
my craft along the way from extraordinary ladies with many decades
of experience.
In
2005 I took all the knowledge I had gained in London to Sydney, Australia
and launched my self-titled bridal label Jessica Fontaine at the age
of 24. Within a few short years I have established myself as a well-respected
bridal designer at the forefront of bridal fashion in Australia &
New Zealand. My gowns are featured regularly in major bridal publications
and I contribute to many articles written on bridal fashions.
After
five years designing & producing couture gowns for Australian
& New Zealand brides I relocated to America. I now divide my time
between New York and Austin where I continue to design gorgeous gowns
for brides around the world that will leave them with a thousand memories
of their special day.
