Edith looked stunning in her Jessica Fontaine Navina gown with a satin bow under her bust.  She carried the delicate lace detail on her gown throughout her wedding along with the color of her handsome groom’s suit: black.  From the dinner menu to the candles, these lace and black touches helped create a beautiful vintage flare throughout their gorgeous affair!  The amazing classic red car didn’t hurt either!  Way to arrive in style!

We are loving these unique takes on bouquets using materials other than fresh flowers.  They look just as stunning as fresh flowers but can last longer, unless you decide to eat it of course!

The Bridal Boutique at Nan Romano opened eight years ago in New Jersey.  Nan started off by carrying special-occasion, mothers of the bride (and groom) and bridesmaids dresses.  After three years of hesitation about bringing in bridal gowns she finally did it. Now she says “I don’t know why it took me so long; I know only that it has changed my life. For the better!”  Since then, Nan Romano has specialized in carrying dresses from top wedding-dress designers exclusive to her New Jersey boutique. She has styled hundreds of brides, bridal parties, flower girls, and mothers of the bride and groom.  Now read below for advice from Nan, herself, on finding the perfect gown and more about her boutique!

1. Tell us about your boutique.  What makes it unique?
Our philosophy is simple: “We give time and personal attention to every bride, deliver made-to-order, couture gowns (six-to-nine months in advance and take up to 18 measurements), and we have fun. Every appointment, we serve mimosas and hand-made truffles.”

2. What do you love about helping brides search for their perfect gown and accessories?
I love when the brides finally puts on the one dress and the look across her face changes from question to perfection.  Also helping with all the little extra add ons for her perfect look from the veil all the way down to her shoes.  It’s an honor to do what I do – help brides select the perfect dress for their most important day. I’m doing what I love and loving what I do!”

 3. Have any tips for choosing “the one” dress?
Be true to what you want and not what others think you should get or like.  It is your special day so stay true to yourself.  You want to look back 10 years from now and say “I still love my wedding gown!”

4. During an appointment, are you often asked for your opinion about a gown?
We are always asked at every appointment by the bride as a non-relative or friend for our honest opinion about the dress they love. Although they take our opinion into consideration, we remind them that it is their dress and they have to love it!

5. What drew you to Jessica Fontaine gowns?
Jessica is doing something fresh and different to the other designers I carry.  The Navina is my favorite. (It’s Jessica’s too!)

Chloe was gorgeous in our Larusha gown with a black silk ribbon tied around a strapless silk chiffon basket-weave bodice.  She glowed with happiness at the harbor and clearly stole the show from the surrounding scenery.  Just like her husband, we could not take our eyes off her in the pictures below!

Saying “I Do!” in the sand and waves? Make sure to choose a gown that fits your setting. Created using a light and airy silk chiffon, our Rucha gown will not weigh you down as you walk down the sandy aisle.  This strapless and flowing gown will also keep you cool as you dance the night away.  Use the surroundings to help decorate your affair with shells as seating cards and provide guests with fans to usher in a sea breeze as they enjoy a cocktail, the sunset, and of course, your wedding!

We spoke with Chelsea about her bridal boutique, Everthine, located in Madison, Connecticut and wanted to share her story, boutique, and fashion tips with all of you!

Michelle Gardella Photography

After graduating from the Parsons School of Design and working in fashion styling and PR, Chelsea got engaged and was disappointed with her bridal gown options.  Knowing that other brides-to-be felt the same way and did not want to be a “caketopper”, Chelsea decided to open Everthine.  Located in a antique home from 1790, Everthine specializes in offering brides unique and one-of-a-kind gowns that she hand-picks from designers (like Jessica Fontaine).  Read below to find out more about Everthine, Chelsea, and her bridal shopping tips to find your perfect gown!

How did you come up with the name Everthine?
I wanted something that depicted true love. Something that would make you think. Since am a die hard Sex and the City fan and a sucker for rom coms, love poems, and sappy songs, I thought a non-traditional wedding gown shop should have a non-traditonal wedding shop name. In the end of Sex and the City, the movie, Big whispers “Ever thine, Ever mine, Ever ours” into her ear and it sent chills down my spine. Ludwig Van Beethoven wrote a series of love poems to his one true love called “Immortal Beloved”. He signed them all ever thine, ever mine, ever ours, meaning forever yours, forever mine, forever ours. It’s always stuck with me and thought it would make the perfect name for my boutique.

Tell us about the Everthine shopping experience.
Everthine is unlike any other bridal shop.  All of our designers are exclusive to us in the state of CT and are very hard to find all under one roof.  We try to take only one appointment at a time, so the experience is intimate, memorable, and the attention is solely on the bride.  We also offer our version of a VIP appointment called a Picture Perfect Appointment and bridal styling services. Read more here!

How do you choose what designers to feature in your boutique?
We chose designers who portray vintage details, soft elegance, and bohemian spirit.   All of our designers are exclusive to us in the state of CT and are very hard to find all under one roof.  Each of our designers speaks to our bride and can offer them a dress in which they will feel like “no one else will have”.  We feel wedding gown should bring out a bride’s beauty not overpower who she is.

What drew you to Jessica Fontaine gowns? What is your favorite JF gown?
Jessica Fontaine’s classic approach to vintage styles make her a staple to Everthine. They are timeless, sophisticated, and unique. My personal favorite is Bella. She is pure elegance. I always tell our brides it looks like the silk is fluttering as she walks! (Thanks Chelsea!)

Have any tips for choosing “the one” dress?
Have an open mind! What you think you love, might not look best on your body type. So try on all different styles and shapes. Nine times out of ten, our brides choose something they never expected!

What is one thing about the gown shopping process that most people do not know or realize?
That bringing more then one other person with you to your appointment will make it much more difficult to make a decision. Bring someone with you who knows YOUR true personal style. The less opinions the better as you will know in your gut which dress speaks to you. Listen to what your body is telling you and your decision will ALWAYS be right.

My favorite thing about wedding gowns and accessories is: Watching them glisten. It’s magical in the perfect light. They are truly works of art.

Penny looked beautiful as she married at the Sydney Botanical Gardens in Australia wearing our favorite wedding gown, Navina.  Penny chose to add a silk ribbon sash to around her waist with a bow in front for a little extra flare.  Gorgeous!

Eryn looked stunning from head to toe at her wedding in Sydney, Australia wearing the Jessica Fontaine Navina gown.  A perfect combination of a modern silhouette with traditional lace detail, the Navina has a French Alencon lace bodice and a liquid silk bias cut skirt.  It is one of Jessica’s favorite gowns!  We think Eryn shone in her gown and was the clearly the center of any setting as seen below!
